Does anyone know how to weave baskets out of twine?

Twine is flexible so it wouldn’t be a basket

Youd make a basket out of straw

But beyond the pedantry of the nomenclature. No I have no idea

I was trying to make it collapsible so I can hide them away when people come over cuz I go raspberry picking blueberry picking
I can put them away when I'm not using them in a cabinet instead of taking up space and stacking them in one another I can have it where I can stop them on top of each other

Basically youd want like a sturdy ring and then a woven bag from it with the ring being the mouth.

I did underwater basket weaving as a kid in scouts using reeds

I've done some miniature doll baskets out of twine and sturdy paper, though you could use stiffened canvas or something else. It's really easy! Are you still interested in this project? @lucid frigate

Ok, so like I said I've used cardstock as the spokes, but you could totally do it with a stiff cloth or other durable flexible material.
You cut out a shape that looks like an asterisk, ✳️, but has 11 points. Very important that it's an odd number. Take your twine and tie it around one of the spokes right up against the intersection point in the middle. Now it's just over-under each spoke going all the way around for eternity until the basket is the size you want! Make sure to push the twine down tight after every other circuit around, and as you adjust the tension between each over-under it will shape the basket 👍 it takes a couple tries to get the hang of shaping them, but you just pull it apart and try again if you don't like it!

These are some of my minis, they're only 1-3 inches wide, but I feel like the same technique would work for larger baskets, especially since you want them to be flexible!
