#Question for Metal Workers

I wishlisted one on Amazon; but because of the 110v of households, they trip breakers. I don't want to keep having to run from the garage to the basement to flip the switch. ๐
Household's been looking at a generator, but a suitable one would be at least $3500.
My friend and I use the generator it seems to work for him.
yeah, but i don't want to spend $3500. xD
My welder has a transformer in it so it brings the volume large up as needed
anyway; thought i could use the oxy-ace torch for cutting the steel, and it dawned on me, 'You can weld with this, too....'
That is true I did forge welding but nothing more my friend is teaching me this summer
chonked off a lot of spenditure if i can do it with the oxy-ace torch. I guess I'll just have to make myself some test plates to practice with before making the actual project.
That is the right plan Right there
Yeah; admittedly, it was more of a 'I need a second opinion besides my own' kind of question.. ๐
I knew I couldn't just braze the stand together; but I had to ask anyway. lol
If only I wasn't getting only $1000/mo for disability. ๐
Ha, that's about how much you get in Australia for disability, that's strange. And I totally get it, I'm just being sillyyyy
GG @brisk wyvern, you just advanced to level 11!
Still possible. Just not by me. Or me alone.
Other problem is they're like 220 lb. Which is a bit more than I can carry around up stairs and such by myself. ๐
If I was over there I would help ya!
I appreciate the thought.
100kg is a lot tho jeez
That's the smallest capable of running a welder that's available near me.
Could run it in the garage to power a welder, or when power goes out; but then I got fumes to worry about, which means openings make it vulnerable to thieves.. ๐
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I would def advise against that. There needs to be something different that can do the job but not take up so much space and energy especially for those with a disability
Well, fortunately my disabilities are all mental. Except the diabetes. But there isn't really anywhere I could run it to power the house if we lose power where it wouldn't be vulnerable, or suffocating us. ๐คช
I mean even running it in the garage with the door closed, the exhaust will eventually seep into the house, and eventually choke out the generator anyway.
There really just needs to be another way
F'd if I'd know ofc, I'm no engineer
There are battery operated hand held chainsaws etc, there needs to be a more compact version for welding too that won't kill you lol
I got one idea; sell this house, buy smaller house with land, build workshops; pour concrete slab, buy surplus army diesel generator, bolt it to the concrete slab. xD
Well... I mean.... That is a damn good idea....
Def not what I had in mind tho hahaha
i think excessive and self reliant. >.>
