Sewing sleeves onto a swimsuit

Hey everyone! One of my cosplays is The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, and I like to showcase her many different outfits from the comics. This is the next one I'm working on, and I found a green swimsuit for the main silhouette, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to design and attach the sleeves... it's not a typical arm hole, so the typical billow sleeve pattern isn't quite working. And since I'm fairly new to sewing, I'm having trouble wrapping my brain around how to modify, or even the best way to make them from scratch. Thanks for any advice! 🫶

If it was me, (I AM NOT A SEWER, TAKE THIS WITH A GRAIN OF SALT!) I would trace the shape you want, and then just cut 2, sew them together, and then ladder stitch onto the armholes. Maybe it would turn out the right way?

One piece of advice, bathing suit material is one of the hardest materials to sew, it will pull in every direction so make sure you pin and sew it carefully and slowly.
