Hi, I'm looking to get into bookbinding. I'd like to learn how to rebind some of my favorite books in leather bindings and I'd like to learn how to bind a book from scratch. Does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to do this? Like, what tools are an absolute must have? Or maybe some instructions on how to bind and rebind books?

I'll take a look thanks
Today we try out a Book Binding DIY. I have scoured the interwebs for every piece of book binding-related content I could find and packaged what I have learned into this simple bookbinding tutorial. I hope you enjoy it!

If you're also looking to rebind books NerdForge has done videos on that as well
Thanks, I didn't know that one existed
I'll take a look
I've also found Four Keys Book Arts to be fantastic, I find his method of presenting very easy to follow. I think his D&D tome series will probably be the most useful if you're trying to rebind with leather. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7JQte6_XNbj-wSF7D5JOBe4KSOvplRnO&si=akdaX5EulG_1vRg_
Ooh, nice thanks, I'm definitely going to take a look at that
@heavy cairn
or you can look at Sea lemon, she has a wonderful video on how to stitch the text block https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9O4kFTOEh6k
UPDATE: Since uploading this video, I've learned more about bookbinding and realize this is NOT a kettle stitch. I'm self-taught and came up with this method years ago to make text blocks for case binding. It's actually a combination of stitches, but at the time, I didn't know what to call it. Apologies for the incorrect naming!
