As someone who has helped with this project a fair bit, I can attest that everyone who has contributed is fairly represented and their work is treated with respect. If you do end up helping out, you will be remembered with love and appreciation forever. <3
This is true. It's almost embarrassing how well attributed us helpers are.
Well the truth is those of you that contribute I consider as part owners of the IP, I might have started the project but it wouldn't be what it is with out all of you
Ive never helped create rules or anything for a larp but I can try my best! Let me know where to start!
So best bet it to take a look through the PDF of the Manual get a little familliar with what has been created, and jump in where you are interested in helping. All sort of stuff still needs to be done for the Manual itself, we also need to figure out how to get a webpage up and going and start attracting players.
At present I do think enough of the rules sets are in place that Dracanus is "Playable" and I would like to try and start play testing as soon as the weather is decent.
I do have a HUGE list of what still needs to be finished and I can post it up if such is desired, but for the most part the main thing is to look through the main PDF and see that which is there.
As a Heads up, there are quite a bit of new pictures added to the Pantheons Section they are not in the current uploaded version, they'll have been show cased in the Art channel on here and will be shown in the next update of the manual
@sinful token To be honest we just need fresh eyes on the project and are glad for help.
What kind of artwork were you looking to add?
Anything and everything, as long as its original artwork. One of the Character Occupations actually uses such to cast magic (Sigil Mages) and I'd honestly like to replace all of what has been put in there since I grabbed stock images to fill it in.
I'm headed to bed rn, but I'll look over the doc again tomorrow and get back to you
No worries. feel free to direct message me, have a good sleep
Oh just to make things slightly easy on those wanting to know what needs to be done, this is the list I've compiled. Some of it can be done by anyone, some of it will require Docs and input from me, others I know I gotta do myself.
For those looking to Critique.... The combat rules are slightly bulky and numbers heavy, we haven't figured out a better way to do it since the "5 point" system is in my opinion CRAP it in no way accounts for the better resiliency of some races compared to others and it completely eliminates any purpose of having armor, I am also a strong proponent that different weapons do different amounts of damage and though yes in reality any and all weapons can instantly kill, we are trying to avoid that for the Larp.
Where is this going to be?
@dense orchid A group is possible in Nevada, and my own will be in Toronto On, all comes down to who wants to run such and where they want to run it from
Ontario is closer to opening than Nevada is.
Unless we got some more help down here.
In terms of equipment and location available, Ontario is the closest to opening. In terms of support team, Nevada is closer. But without a fixed location to start at, we're not going to beat Ontario. Which I'm cool with, because I think Ontario should be the first up and running.
In regards to which will open sooner both are equal chance, Ontario's group needs people, both players and staff to run it, we have sufficient equipment to host a few small free events. Where as the Nevada group I'm not sure what all it is they need.
This is an updated copy of the Dracanus Players Manual. For those of you checking it out please don't let the number of pages intimidate you much of the information is not required for setting up a character and playing the game and many there is blank spaces where I've had to move tables down so that Pictures or information wasn't broken up. We are still looking for assistance in many area's let us know if you're interested in helping out!!
