Im sure this has never been asked by anyone, ever, especially right in this forum, but what does one do when your bound with no settings moving in betaflight reciever tab?!

Told ya it was unique!!!! (Most asked, most ignored or under-explained question on expresslrs.)

Is the ports tab set up for Serial RX on the correct UART?

hazy iron
#

Yes

#

Sometimes works....sometimes doesnt

#

Happymodel 2024 mob6

#

Brand new out of box

#

I wasted 2 new boxes last night

#

Bnf

#

Elrs

#

3.x.x

#

Whatever the fuck that means

#

Cuz apparently it's 50/50 if this is spi or not

#

Weird

#

Am I waiting for the answer that never comes here?

#

Even better...give me a month I'll get u a tab where they move the quad and rotate the motors.....and still won't work in modes

simple python
#

So occasionally the signals do become visible in the Receiver tab?

hazy iron
#

No...occasionally....I go 3 days straight no sleep and click every button possible until it just works

#

Except failsafe or modes or whatever

#

I can arm the quad right now

simple python
hazy iron
#

Beats this doesnt it? I think this question has been unanswered set wd 500 times

#

Or just "check ur wiring"

#

Well this is factory no wiring

simple python
#

Does the signal come in/out when it's constantly powered up or does it only change when you connect/disconnect USB or battery power?

hazy iron
#

I can add battery and nothing

#

Or u want me to plug usb when battery already in

simple python
#

You said the signal comes in/out sporadically, so let's figure out how that can happen

hazy iron
#

Ports tab is just all serial 1 msp and serial checked with mspdisplayport

#

No...I mean between me changing things

simple python
#

Can you get a photo of the ports tab?

hazy iron
#

Sometimes I figure it out

#

I think i manually type in every possible config from reta to ater

#

Ya I think that was something that worked once

#

But I checked.... no reason to think I'm not in taer

#

On radio hardware tab.... what is aux 1 supposed to be?

#

I try that as a variable with every ater to tera

#

Whatever u know what I mean

simple python
# hazy iron

That seems correct. Can you get a photo of the ELRS lua script when the radio is connected to the drone?

hazy iron
simple python
#

Okay, cool. Go to the model settings, a few pages forward should be a Telemetry page. Go there while the radio is connected to the drone, scroll a bit down and there should be an option to Discover New. Let that run, and when it's done just count how many sensors show up

hazy iron
#

Been done

#

I have 10 sensors

#

Ur asking me to do nothing tho. Its out of the box new man

#

U were on last night. I haven't slept... still going

simple python
#

I'm asking diagnostic questions trying to ge to the root of the issue

hazy iron
#

That guy spent all night trying to get me bound. I told him it isn't my issue

#

If it's so easy what's there to think about?

simple python
#

Get a screenshot of the Web UI pages of the receiver

hazy iron
#

That's the jokes u guys were making

#

I have em. Trust me. All 3.5.5

#

I been standing at bench all night not getting up for a minute

#

But I have screenshot

simple python
#

Just the receiver in this Mobula 6 for now please

hazy iron
#

See above

#

What are your credentials?

#

A moderator?

simple python
#

The above photos of the Web UI are of a Jumper T-15 and a Happymodel EP1 Dual

hazy iron
#

Im at least glad when people do actually try to help they see it's not a alley up for a joke

simple python
#

neither of which is what is expected on a Mobula 6

hazy iron
#

That's what my hardware is

#

Mob6 2024

#

Taken from box

#

With factory firmware...lemme get screenshot

#

Sorry

#

I can't see i have to guess

simple python
#

The Mobula 6 2024 should have a HappyModel AIO 2.4GHz RX+VTX target specifically

hazy iron
simple python
#

If it has anything else, it's unlikely to work as expected

hazy iron
#

There

#

I know it's not the aio rx vtx but that's what dude wanted to get bound and that's what works. Beats me

simple python
#

If that's really from the Mobula itself, then it's incorrect

hazy iron
#

Jesus man u think I like this shit?

#

Why would I be lying?

#

I showed baked beans too

#

He said it was normal

#

Fml

#

But yes... it really really is from mob itself. I opened 2 new boxes last night

simple python
#

I'm not saying anyone is lying, just that somewhere along the process this was flashed with the incorrect firmware

#

for now it does not matter where that happened, let's just fix that

hazy iron
#

Okay well dont hold back the goods. What's the secret code

#

Crazybeef4?

simple python
#

HappyModel AIO 2.4GHz RX+VTX

hazy iron
#

Its a happymodel superx board

#

That's what I said we did

#

To bind

#

That's what it. Issssssss

#

Now

#

Shit

#

These small pix ruin my gusto

#

Hang on

#

Fml

#

Plugging in

#

Just took pic now

simple python
#

so that is actually from the Mobula now?

hazy iron
#

I left it plugged in so luckily it was already in wifi

simple python
#

Okay, scroll a bit down, need to see the rest of the page

hazy iron
#

English?

#

I just said I just took the pic. Lemme show u a timestamp

#

Hang on

simple python
#

just need to see more of the page you're on, right now we're only seeing the top

hazy iron
#

Wait I just thought of something

#

When u flash betaflight.... it auto selects crsf

#

Is there an inverted option there? How would I change that cuz that would fix it

simple python
hazy iron
#

Obviously but it's locked in

#

U want options tab?

simple python
#

Enable model match, save it, then disable it and save it again

hazy iron
#

I thought u just do that in the radio

#

I dont have mismatch currently showing but ok

#

(Have had it b4)

#

Do I give it a 0?

#

To match

simple python
#

Just turn it on and off again on the receiver web ui like described

hazy iron
#

Anything else?

#

Gonna disconnect and let it cool off

#

Already up to 43

#

Im gonna reflash bluejay while waiting

simple python
hazy iron
#

To 24

simple python
hazy iron
#

I did

#

I saved then unsaved

#

It or u know...what u asked

#

Are we eliminating variables here? U guys will have to eat humble pie when it comes down to me having to reflash betaflight to like 4.4.2

simple python
#

Okay then, power cycle both the drone and the controller, make sure they're connected, then go to the Telemetry page on the radio and try discovering sensors again

hazy iron
#

Okay

#

Insightful...

simple python
#

what's the count?

hazy iron
#

It'll be 10 as usual I'm sure

simple python
#

Is the drone connected to the radio?

hazy iron
#

How could it not be?

#

I just showed telemetry

#

Exactly

#

Crickets

simple python
#

I'm just trying to make sure... try enabling and disabling it in the radio itself now, then try the sensors again

hazy iron
#

Turn telemetry on and off?

simple python
#

model match

hazy iron
#

I've clicked all options man. Every screen every button and variables thereof

#

I've had like 2 years. Some say 4

#

But expresslrs like 2

#

Nothing new

simple python
#

It's not about changing everything possible, it's about changing only the things that matter for a specific step/process

hazy iron
#

Fml

#

I deleted them now I only have 1. Great...that'll be a fun new rabbithole

simple python
#

deleted what?

hazy iron
#

Normally they all come back

#

Telemetry

#

10 before u asked to delete. 1 after

#

They were all working before that

#

Thanks for that

#

Im resetting

#

Nope

simple python
#

I have never asked you to delete the sensors

hazy iron
#

Bunged that up real good man

#

Well... there are 3 buttons... add new, delete all and stop

#

U said cycle it. I figured. Guess I'm the asshole

#

They are all gone now so that's probably a good week to fix

#

From this

#

To that

simple python
#

No one's an asshole here, and it should be a quick fix

hazy iron
#

A week isn't quick

simple python
#

it should not be a week

#

I asked you to turn model match on and off again on the radio itself, then try discovering the sensors

hazy iron
#

I just dont need to add more problems to this process. I've tripped on all of them so far or at least I thought. That's a new blessing

#

No big deal u dont really need telemetry

#

Still bound

simple python
#

The sensors aren't necessary for function, but the amount that is detected tells us more about what's going on when something isn't working as it should

#

The diagnostics we have so far collected are:

  • Radio and receiver are connected,
  • no input in Betaflight despite correct setup,
  • And only 10 telemetry sensors.
That would indicate a model mismatch preventing the receiver from sending data to the FC for the purpose of model matching. What I am trying to guide you through are steps that should get the model match data on both the transmitter and receiver to a known state
hazy iron
#

Im listening

#

Sounds contradictory but I'm listening

#

How can all my setup (checked and verified) be correct yet it's a model mismatch?

#

When that happens, the lua knows

#

It flashes at the top "model mismatch"

#

I've had it and fixed it.

#

Not like u had me do in web, but on radio same process

#

Whatever. Any ideas or am I just as I have suspected.....completely effed?

#

This is why I've bought multiple items of the same...TO CHECK MY SANITY

simple python
#

Try enabling and then disabling it again in the radio ELRS lua script

hazy iron
#

Model mismatch fix u mean

#

Model match on then off ok

#

Nada

#

Same

#

Are u on tech support hold with China?

simple python
#

I'm working on my own work, I come here when I have a bit of time

hazy iron
#

That's what I was asking. What do u do? Are u a tech specialist?

#

Im thankful that your like the 4th guy to go through everything and be stumped like me. Just makes me feel less stupid

#

I've been beating myself up for months feeling dumber than a 3rd grader

#

Chalk another thread about sticks not moving in betaflight to ......... Happymodel or other recievers in general just not working on expresslrs. Sometimes they do...if your lucky maybe

#

I've searched and drugged the web.... there are all kinda of theiries....some say to NOT flash the Happymodel specified target (aio 2.4 rx + vtx)

#

It says to change to DIY reciever sx1280

#

I've tried that stuff too. Dead end

#

Point is....especially with the probably dozens or even a hundred same threads that suggest either the hardware or software is busted

#

Some say the reciever is spi based....others dont. Its a big argument and nobody gets any closer to any conclusion

#

Im just reading through other threads. We should form a support group

#

If u can think of anything else I'll be listening. Im probably just gonna see if I can convert everything to crossfire or some other link that works

#

Spent enough of my life banging my head here (even though I've actually gotten the motors to spin a few times)

hazy iron
#

check out the hardware described at the bottom.

hazy iron
#

my understanding is that the happymodel board (dual rx 2.4 from factory also known as super x) only binds when setting serial to inverted crsf. not crsf as most people say.

hazy iron
#

@mossy pivot you kept telling me that my board isn't spi. Check out this video https://youtu.be/4GmrIYbRzf0?si=DA36LyeEZBZPoiOU

So the mobula6 2024 comes with 2 different firmwares for betaflight.... Mobula6 2024 betaflight firmware target:CRAZYBEEF4SX1280 and target:STM32F411CEU6 (100MHZ, 512K FLASH) ,ESP32-PICO-D4

#

two different gyros too: BMI270(SPI connection)

#

ICM42688P(SPI connection)

#

whatever I'm no closer to flying all these future dumpster fires

#

YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE SPI BASED SERIAL CRSF PEOPLE

#

@simple python how do i get my sensors back you had me mess with

simple python
#

Sorry, I got busy yesterday and then went directly to sleep

simple python
#

oh nvm he left...
