#DarwinFPV TinyApe Freestyle not responding

Hey,

To give some context, I soldered a new RX to my DarwinFPV TinyApe Freestyle (the BetaFPV Lite 2.4 GHz ELRS) - due to previous binding issues with the internal RX. After some trouble with flashing I managed to get both my RX and TX (Radiomaster Zorro ELRS) to bind (with a bind phrase). They are definetly connected as the RX's LED is solid and the TX has the 'C' in the Lua (?) script menu.

However, the drone does not respond to any inputs and does not respond on Betaflight (i.e. no accelerometer input, no visualised TX input, does not respond to manually testing motors, etc...). I assume this has something to do with the RX and FC not communicating, however I'm probably wrong.

Any help would be appreciated!
(I am relatively new to this sort of stuff just to clarify)

What RX do you have?

this: BetaFPV Lite 2.4 GHz ELRS

Was it the RX provided with the drone?

indigo plinth
#

Not sure it was the integrated one

#

Ill check on the site

The ELRS team works closely with manufacturers to review and test hardware. It isn't until after testing that a specific Configurator target is added.

Hardware not listed in the Configurator means the hardware did not pass requirements, or the manufacturer has chosen not to collaborate. In this case the manufacturer should be contacted for support.

Take away message... Check the Configurator and support manufacturers that support open source and the ExpressLRS project 💪

Ohh I should read better

#

So you've soldered a replacement RX

#

Yea if you can take a photo of the replacement RX, and the wiring on both the FC side and RX side please

indigo plinth
#

aight

#

I will also need to dissasemble it rq

#

But shouldn't the wiring be OK if it binds?

limpid warren
indigo plinth
#

oh ok

#

and the solder map

limpid warren
#

Should be R -> T

#

and T -> R

indigo plinth
#

ah ok

limpid warren
#

Sort that for a start, and come back with a screenshot of your BF ports and receiver tab too please

indigo plinth
#

yep no worries and thanks

indigo plinth
#

I've done it but still not response

#

It does still bind though

limpid warren
#

And change the serial RX slider to be only on for UART 2

indigo plinth
#

like this?

limpid warren
indigo plinth
#

ohhh ok

#

still nothing

limpid warren
indigo plinth
#

I have this under the flash options

#

should I do either?

limpid warren
#

Do erase before flash, and post the !log

See the following image to save a log file from the configurator

indigo plinth
#

this is what happened when I tried flashing before but it eventually worked over wifi

limpid warren
# indigo plinth

Thats good, it can communicate with the RX so your wiring is OK

#

Expected to fail with Erase before flash on

#

Untick it and try again now

indigo plinth
limpid warren
indigo plinth
#

still the same

limpid warren
# indigo plinth

Post a photo of your ExpressLRS Lua with TX turned on, then drone

#

Pay attention to the top line - see if 'Model Mismatch' appears

yes

limpid warren
#

Running out of ideas... everything should be working

#

Is this your only drone?

indigo plinth
#

yes

limpid warren
indigo plinth
#

sure

limpid warren
#

It shouldn't fail the first time, so you shouldn't have to untick it and redo it after to actually flash it

indigo plinth
#

i select usb serial?

#

or storage
