When its finished "building", the actual file doesn't show up. I don't know if this is also important info, but I also don't get the log showing whats its doing while building like in the tutorials I see on Youtube.

If your goal is just to flash your TX12 mkII internal ELRS, can you try with an USB cable and EdgeTX Passthrough mode to see if this works out easier for you?

Just use the FLASH button. There is no build and flash anymore as the firmware is pre-built.

This looks normal to me. Building for wifi update doesn't show logs for me and firmware.bin or firmware.bin.gz is what you get now. No proprietary firmware names for hardware anymore.

so after trying to update with wifi using firmware.bin it suddenly works. The last time i tried it gave me an error, making me think i did something wrong.
