Flight controllers with built-in ELRS SPI receivers are not flashed using ELRS Configurator, the ELRS firmware is "baked in" to Betaflight. Thus to update your ELRS firmware, you'll need to flash the latest version of Betaflight for your FC. Betaflight 4.3.x is compatible with ELRS v2.x.x, and Betaflight 4.4.x is compatible with ELRS v3.x.x.
In Betaflight 4.4 and newer, the binding phrase can be set directly on the receiver tab in Betaflight Configurator.
In Betaflight 4.3, the binding phrase needs to be set via CLI. Enter it here and paste the resulting code in the Betaflight CLI: https://www.expresslrs.org/hardware/spi-receivers/#binding-phrase
thank you for responding, I tried to flash the fc through betaflight version 10.90 i believe . That didnt go well , luckily i saved a backup and flashed back to what it came with. should i update the betaflight config first?
go into the cli tab and execute the command version
also, the bot doesn't respond (don't reply to it)
I appreciate it , discord is new to me as well. what will that do ?
it will spit out the version info for the drone and betaflight firmware it has..
post the output here
Betaflight / STM32F411 (S411) 4.4.3 Nov 14 2023 / 16:54:33 (738127e7e) MSP API: 1.45 ( Is this correct?)
this isn't the full output, right?

config: YES
board: manufacturer_id: HAMO, board_name: CRAZYBEEF4DX
NOPE
that ain't an SPI receiver on that drone
not all "on-board" receivers are spi-based
My apologies , I put the information the seller sent. Am i toast?
not quite..
post a photo of the flight controller, both sides
ok, i have to take it apart , i will be back asap maybe 10 mins
this isn't an spi-equipped flight controller..
so there shouldn't be any updating you must do..
the receiver on the board should go into wifi mode after a 60s interval after powering up.. indicated by very fast LED blinks..
connect and load the webui and set a binding phrase that's the same as what you put into the TX module..
steps here (to get to the receiver webui)
https://www.expresslrs.org/quick-start/webui/#receivers
I’m going to get started on checking this out . I really appreciate you taking the time to help me
My radio master zorro connects to the crux 35 . I don’t have stick inputs or switch’s working(they all are set up in the remote beta flight
Show the ELRS lua on your radio
Show your ports and receiver tabs in Betaflight
Do you have an antenna on your TX module?
Yes I do , it’s the stock antenna , I’m loading up betaflight now . Thank you
I can't make it out in your photos above, which is why I asked
Hmmm, this should be correct
Change Telemetry ratio to Std, and then briefly enable Model match then turn it off again
My module is running 3.2.1 elrs , I think crux 35 is running 2 . 5 or something.I’m thinking of getting another module and flashing to try to match . Do you think that might help ?
It shouldn't connect if there is a firmware mismatch
I would update both anyway though, via USB/Passthrough
Receiver updating guide: https://www.expresslrs.org/quick-start/receivers/hmep2400/#via-passthrough
For the telemetry ratio is that on my radio ? Or betaflight

I tried updating on the elrs configurator . It won’t load bootloader and keeps saying retry . Even after plugging a LiPo in

It looks like you are selecting the wrong target
Per the guide I posted above, you should be selecting the HappyModel EP1/EP2 2.4GHz RX target
That is wrong
I will give that one a shot , my apologies

Unplug everything, make sure Betaflight is closed, plug in USB, and try again
I exited out of all programs and unplugged it . Re plugged it back in . sadly no luck . The same log appears

unplugged it , held the boot button down , plugged the usb in and hit flash. This was the last log
What was the receiver LED doing?
It was flashing fast green , then solid green once the flash started and remains green . Also this board has two boot buttons . I tried the process with each one
The board has 2 red led that stay on when powered . 2 green lights that flash on different pulses . One green light flashes 3 times every second . The other green flashes one beat per second. After a minute or so one green led flashes fast . Then both go out .
*”ET” and “ER” pads are used for communication with ESP8285, you can connect “TX” of FTDI tool to “ET” pad and connect “RX” of FTDI tool to “ER” pad for upgrade onboard UART ELRS receiver firmware. Need to short connect “+5V” and “E5” pads before that. The CrazyF411 ELRS flight controller comes with integrated UART…
Make sure you are holding the receiver boot button. The receiver LED should stay on solid green and not blink
I tried both buttons one at a time . The second button had the build stuck and had to close out of the program after 10 minutes of no movement at all . I’m not sure if this makes a difference but the seller called it the v1 I believe 12 amp esc
