#ExpressLRS line doesn't work inside CLI and how come I can't switch from Serial to SPI x ELRS?
202 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
your flight controller do not have spi elrs..
wait it doesn't?
per the board name.. it doesn't
I had thought I bricked it so I figured out how to flash it to bring it back
it's got uart-based elrs
unless of course you flashed it with the wrong board target
post a photo of both sides of the fc
if you think I can identify your FC properly without disassembly...
with great emphasis on properly
board target: CRAZYBEEF4SX1280
Firmware download link(Support both version of ELRSF4 2G4) : betaflight_4.3.0_CRAZYBEEF4SX1280_norevision ICM20689 betaflight_4.3.0_CRAZYBEEF4SX1280_Official_Release ELRSV2.LUA download link: ELRSV2 instruction and download Default diff documents download link: For Mobula6 ELRS 2.4GHZ v2.0 version which comes with ELRSF4 2G4 V3.3 Flight control...
got it
I'll try to flash that on there
ok I think things are working fine
I was tricked into flashing with CRAZYBEEF4DX because of betaflight's recommendation
thanks for your help deadbyte
apply the factory diff all, or take sections off it
how can I apply factory diff all
e.g. board orientation, vtx table, the pid tune
on the link I posted above is a repo of the firmware hex and diff all files
you applied the correct diff all ?
the one for v3.3?
yep
how did you applied it?
copy the content of the text file, paste in the cli, type in save?
yeah save was already typed in so I just pasted and hit enter
ctrl-A and then copy and paste into cli
go back into the setup tab
hold the drone with camera facing away from you, upright and almost flat
then on the corner, click Reset Z and then move the drone in your hands side to side (roll), front to back(pitch) and yaw
yeah it's still a little funky
go into the configuration tab.. set yaw angle to 180
you're in the configuration tab.. no commands.. you set it in the top right section for board alignment
Yaw Degrees - 180
First Gyro, CW90 (fir the first setting didn't do it)
I set 180 and it was a little wonky but I was able to do 270 and I think that works
sweet should I test it
go into receiver tab and make sure the Channel Map is correct for your Mixes page order
ok one long moment
alright sorry for taking a while to respond I was turning in a homework assignment
I'm going to try to do what you just typed up
is it normal for my throttle to be at that level when it's all the way down?
yes
alright then I think I may have fixed it
I set the thingy to aetr which was what it was previously before I messed everything up
I'll set my arming switches and try to do everything
my vtx for some reason doesn't change output power tho so it's a little weird
be back in a second
how are you changing it? does it appear "ready" in the vtx tab when lipo is connected?
I think so
for whatever reason I'm only getting video when i point my goggles at the quad now
it could be in pit mode..
could you post a screenshot of the vtx tab?
ok one sec
I think it didn't let me go in there because I didn't have ports configured
but I didn't mind it since things were working anyways
if you applied the diff all config properly, then it should be basically back to factory config
could you go into the CLI tab and paste these lines

and is it working now?
one sec lemme check
still the same thing
I have dvr of what's going on if discord will let it send
volume warning
could it be that I cooked the vtx
which exact whoop do you have?
you've set ports tab so that uart 2 is set to TBS smartaudio?
(diff all from factory should've done that for you)
reapply this vtx table via the CLI tab

ok deadbyte it's definitely not because I cooked it
but something weird is happen8ing
I only get good connection through vtx when I go into my radiomaster boxer and set it from 200mw to 25mw and back to 200mw
have you reapplied that vtx table I posted above?
on your boxer, enable dynamic power
and then, on VTX admin, make sure power is set to --
or set Band to Off
PWR level to -
pitmode to off
woah this thing goes to 400mw?
just a few seconds ago there were three options 25 100 and 200
per vtx table, it does
that's because of the other vtx table, from the old mob6 diff all that I have
if you're going to use this setting, set your goggles to R8, then tap Send VTX
see if your vtx has changed to R8.. if it doesn't then this setting doesn't really matter because it doesn't work.. at least at the moment
everything seems to work
how much doees 400mw really burn
will I have like 1 minute of flight time
no..
test it in flight.. land when pack reads ~3.3v
dang
your help has knocked like a handful of birds with like one stone
I'm able to go into places I couldn't before without making sure I'm looking in that direction
I'll load up a full pack and test it right now
save a diff all of your current "working" config
so you have a point to go back to incase something messed up again
ok just finished
that was a good amount of time
definitely noticed the warning though
the temperature was getting up there
the osd told me the core was at like 70 celcius
but it went away after it got cooled down while flying
ah, that's a non-issue and mostly can be ignore because it wasn't that accurate
(that's the main fc mcu core temp)
yes
hell yeah dude
I've scoured all over youtube for help but couldn't find anything
and you basically responded to my question in like 1 minute
got you a coffee cause it's the least I could do

where you from anyways?
thank you!
I'm from the Philippines
oh yeah I think I see it now
the view is great in your test of the gemini and dvda
alright I'm going to head out
thanks for all your help
I'll probably be back the next time I mess up again lol
happy flying!
I flew earlier today and I puffed up one of my batteries
sad
sometimes my vtx bugs out and the drone drops dead. do you possibly know why this could be happening?
I'll send dvr footage
it usually happens when I arm and then try to put throttle
sometimes it does it when I arm and don't add any throttle
I usually fix it by unplugging the quad and plugging it back in
could be brown outs.. redo your main battery lead wiring
I think you may be right
it was my first time soldering and I think I messed up because it wasn't happening before
I got a new antenna though
do you think this one will perform better than my old one
I've used the scout with its default antenna setup with great success..
only swapped it out when I started flying to 3km and above..
oh dang
do you think penetration might be better
the penetration after your help getting it to 400mw is pretty great
I can fly behind an entire house without blacking out
that shorter one should be enough for a front-only flights.. once you go behind you, your water-ful head will block any signals.. so a longer stalk omni should help
got you
my range is still subpar with about 400 feet but I think it's because of my mobula6 receiver antenna
it's super far compared to when I first flew it
I'm basically trying to fly it outdoors like it's a 5 inch lol
compared to a 5" that can carry a much larger battery, these whoops could maybe get to a kilometer or so.. one way
totally fine by me
I tried flying in a walmart and there was a lot of interference with the screen
lots of flickers
use R8 as that's far away from wifi signals
(though most flyers would use that for that same reason)
ok sweet
i'm still running the vtx settings you sent me through your radio last time and it's been doing me pretty well
I have a question about vtx mw. My mobula6 goes to 400mw and I think the range and penetration could definitely better. Will the penetration and range be worse if I have 300mw on a 5inch with this vtx? https://www.racedayquads.com/products/happymodel-ovx303-25-300mw-5-8ghz-u-fl-vtx-w-openvtx?variant=39542221602929&aff=58
The Happymodel OVX303 VTX is based on the Open source project OpenVTX powered by JyeSmith from the EpxressLRS team. Open VTX aims to provide firmware with both the SmartAudio and Tramp protocols. Either protocol can be used on the flight controller and on VTx power up the protocol used is automatically detected by OpenVTx.
I'm thinking about a future 5 inch build and I value range and penetration tons
the power rating is one thing..
the quality of the vtx is another, and then the antennas..
and then we have the other side.. the VRX and its antennas
I see
what's an amazing vtx that you'd recommend
I won't want to cheap out on that + the antennas
I haven't used a lot.. but had great success with rush' offerings
The RUSHFPV Tank Plus Video Transmitter features strong anti-interference ability, power filtering, and stable transmission. Reducing the size and weight by removing all extraneous mounting material makes this VTX a great choice for your next race build. They kept the full metal casing so it's still a TANK. Rush's LOCK
I could spend a little more on something like this
