I’ve flashed my board with Betaflight pass through to 3.20 but firmware says rev: “merge” in 10.0.01. If I try to update to 2.52 or 3.01, it will say successful but then no longer create the web page, bind and go into slow blink mode. It’s gone into this slow blink till I’ve unbricked it with betaflight pass through but it’s just been a continual cycle. Any help please!

go into C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\ExpressLRS Configurator\firmwares\cloud and delete ExpressLRS folder
then reflash via Passthrough
or reflash using the !webflasher
When I went into c: folder and try to follow the path I don’t have app data and the rest of the path. When I searched for expresslrs or cloud folder not luck
I tried web flasher and no luck. The board has an esp boot button. Is that what I hold when doing betaflight pass through or should I try the separate board boot button?
but you are in windows?
you want the ESP boot button
Darn, that’s what I’ve been doing with no luck.
Here’s what happens if I choose the user
If I go into program files here’s the expresslrs folder
copy the file structure:
C:\Users\Jairu\AppData\Roaming\ExpressLRS Configurator\firmwares\cloud
paste it into an explorer window, address bar
Deleted! Now should I attempt using the web flasher and do Betaflight pass through?
try with the configurator again..
It successfully updated! It creates the web page again but will not bind to controller. Transmitter has same bind phrase and is in 3.00 or 3.01 I believe
post a screenshot of the transmitter's webUI options tab please
put the TX into wifi mode, connect and load the WebUI and post a screenshot of the Options tab from that WebUI
When I go to WiFi connectivity-enable wif it says WiFi running but nothing comes up?
I would think the module is messed up but have another whoop that binds right up
did you set it up with your local wifi credentials?
these parameters.. did you set these?
When I set up the tx or the rx? I did not when I set up the rx
we're talking about the TX that isn't showing up as an Access Point..
I’m not sure, is there a way to check or not without reflashing?
turn off your router.. the tx will then be forced to start the access point.. see if it comes up..
then connect and load the webUI.. go into the wifi tab and Forget Local Network
save
then go back to the Options Tab, take a screenshot and post here
@slender gorge
@slender gorge please don’t give up on me 😢
have you tweaked Wifi Tab and forgot the Local wifi?
Yes!
on the receiver, increase the wifi interval.. set it back to 60
does your TX work with your other receivers?
based on the UID numbers, which match, they should be bound already..
I set it back to 60 but still no luck. Yes my tx binds to another whoop running the same board. It says “rx failsafe” in betaflight as a flag but when I put on goggles it doesn’t have “no rx found” message or anything
with the receiver powered up, and the lua script loaded on the radio, post a screenshot/photo (of the Lua Script)
could you post a screenshot of the betaflight configurator, receiver tab please.. and ports tab
the receiver is NOT in wifi mode, yes?
No, it continues to go into Wi-Fi mode
it does blink slow at first? then blinks fast?
It never does the fast blink. It just does like 1 second blinks then goes into WiFi. One sec I’ll send a vid
fast blinks is what indicates wifi mode
unless you're looking at the wrong LED
could you post a full screenshot of the receiver tab please
No matter how long I plug it in, it never goes into that fast blink WiFi mode I’ve seen but still goes into WiFi mode?
could you reflash via passthrough with the option Erase Before Flash..
post the log should it stop on Erasing... (or whatever)
unplug..
press the esp boot button, then replug and try again..
or first disable Telemetry in betaflight, save and reboot, unplug usb, press and hold the esp boot button, then replug and try again
redo it WITHOUT the Erase Before Flash option
and does it work now with your tx module? unless of course you changed the binding phrase, either accidentally or deliberately
@slender gorge same blinking pattern, when I check rx web site everything looks normal but still no luck
UID is the same still?
matching with the TX?
No, still won’t connect to tx. I use the same bind phrase as on tx, it’s the only one I use on all tx and rxs
Model match is off on both
it never did connect with your tx?
No, I ensured the tx was on first and everything. I have this one thing on the options. Should I try a different target or a different elrs version?
Pass through method?
your call..
Historically when I try Wi-Fi method it likes bricks it. I’ll try pass through again
if that still doesn't work, consider returning the item, ask for a refund or replacement.
if seller won't cooperate, go directly to Happymodel..
send them my regards
Updated but still won’t connect. Although it’s flashing and updating, could there be something wrong with the chip?
is the antenna still intact and undamaged? though it should in theory still connect
Thanks for your help man! Sorry I sent you on a wild goose chase
Yes!
I could've also suggested wiring an external receiver into uart 2, but I can't see any way to disconnect that onboard receiver
if you have a hot air station, you could lift off that esp chip from the board
I was considering adding an external and using it as a uwl build. You think it won’t work though bc the onboard will interfere?
yes.. there is a chance that onboard one will interfere
Darn it! Hot air rework is a little over my head, but I appreciate the suggestion!
Again, thanks for your help and sorry for taking up so much of your time! I’ll be sure to get you 2 cups of coffee for your fund for the effort!
that's okay..
I should even apologize for not responding right away..
No apologies necessary man, I appreciate the help and I’m happy to buy you some coffees! Thanks for all you do for the community ❤️
