#Patch antenna with regular antenna

LHCP is a bit of a weird choice for analog, as most analog pre-builts come with RHCP antennas
but no, it won't cause an issue. A directional antenna on the receiving end will work just fine with an omni on the transmitting end, if they match in polarizartion
Thank for info
Adorable brands?
Sorry I’m new here, I don’t know how to tag and reply lol
adorable?
Jesus fuck 🤦🏻♂️ affordable, damn auto correct
Prodrone.pl if you don't mind waiting. Best bang for the buck.
Which country are you in?
Virginia USA
TrueRC stuff from a US retailer will get to you the fastest. Hugo's stuff is amazing but he charges a fair price for it.
Prodrone.pl is really good stuff and unreasonably cheap.
But they're Polish, so expect a month of waiting.
Also, how far are you intending to fly?
I wanna sit in the house and fly around outside, around trees and other houses
Well... A patch ain't gonna do too much for you tbh
But you don't need a super high gain patch for that
I don’t need a patch just a 90 degree rp-sma connecter
If I'm gonna be honest, the BetaFPV VRXX goggles don't have very good receivers. Polishing a turd, so to speak.
That’s all I can work with right now
I can understand budget - okay. You can get basic SMA adapters off Amazon
Make sure the RP is on the right side
I meant a 90 degree rp-sma antenna not connecter. And I have a Cetus X with a lumenier axis 2 short with ufl
I’m sorry the rx antenna is gonna be RHCP as informed above
You're not gonna find antennas with native RP-SMA on a 90° connector.
You need to buy an SMA antenna, then get an adapter that's 90°, and RP-SMA on the goggle side but SMA on the antenna side.
What is the best antenna for though walls and metal?
not shooting your signal through walls and metal
You'd be better served by getting a long piece of SMA extension and putting it out the window at least
I currently can’t walk and need to sit in the house
A good antenna really doesn't do much through occlusion, especially for metal.
Got ya - if you can sit nearby a window that'd help a lot.
I can sit at the back door with the door open.
That'd make a huge difference
I got trees and I wanna fly over the roof of my house
So as context, we generally classify a few meters of light tree cover around -20dB. A highly directional antenna will give you +10dB in the direction you point it, it's a losing battle.
If you're able to follow the aircraft with your head spot-on, a patch antenna could improve your signal a bit but trees and walls are always gonna kinda suck.
I don’t have to fly over or through trees if I don’t want to.
Also, how much TX power is your VTX outputting?
400mw
Workable - what TX antenna?
Lumenier micro AXII RHCP
Should be pretty good quality already tbh
Should I get a RHCP or Omni rx antenna?
That question makes no sense, those are completely separate things
RHCP is the polarization of the signal
Omni is the signal reception/transmission patrern
That 2d diagram is a profile for a 3d representation just by revolving it around the antenna
You need to match the polarity on both the receiving end and the transmitting end - your vtx and goggles both need to have either RHCP, LHCP, or linear antennas
The directionality and reception pattern depends on your needs
