I'm trying to set up airport on my Happymodel ES900RX and ES900TX. I have flashed both with the latest master version. Through the LUA script i've managed to set my Packet rate on the TX to 100Hz Full and the Telem Ratio is set to 1:2. I've also changed the TX Power to 1000mW. I want to change these settings on my RX as well however In the LUA script the "other devices" does not show up.

I do have a C on the top right of the LUA script and a solid green light on the RX.

Do I need to flash back to one of the stable versions to set all these parameters, then flash the master?

Try first with very low baud rate. Something like 1200 baud or so.

Okay so i've now managed to get both devices on maximum power and on 100Hz Full through the LUA script. (I just reflashed master on both)

#

After doing that these are the following settings through the WebUI

#

I'm connecting to an F405 WMN on UART5. The settings are:

#

But when I plug in the TX to my laptop through USB (the 1st and 2nd dip switches are ON, all other are off), it will timeout when trying to connect

I've used the exact same wire colouring as on this diagram:

#

i'm using standard pins on the FC side and the wire colours are Black, Red, Yellow Blue since on the FC side the order is G, 5V, RX5 TX5

Can you first wire them both up via FTDI for easier debugging directly to a computer or two computers, w/o flight controller in the way and check the comms this way first.

#

Airport should act like a "wireless" cable replacement this way. With serial terminal programs you should be able to communicate bi-directionally between these two FTDI links via Airport.

Hmmm, i've set up the TX with the USB cable and my RX with an FTDI cable. Opened both in putty at 1200 baud and i'm not getting anything through

#

If I have my TX unplugged and just connect power to the RX the RX does blink and eventually goes into wifi mode so its not going into bootloader mode/softbricked. The only thing I've realised I haven't mentioned is that on the TX there is two LED's over the buttons labelled 82G0 and 82RST are solid red while the RGB LED is on constantly and yellow, the colour doesn't seem to change no matter what I set as the UART baud rate so maybe its not changing the buad rate properly?

Ah, I see cool. Ty.

When using airport on a happymodel TX you will need to leave the jumpers in the flashing ESP position (i.e. 5 and 6 on, all others off). This is because the chip will want to talk out the USB/serial port. If you put it back to the "normal" position then those pins will be conencted to the backpack chip.
