#Meteor 65 pro 2022 ELRS issues (help!)

Just got the new betafpv meteor 65 pro and I'm having a ton of issues. First I'm not sure what the correct target is, I tried DIY 2400 RX ESP8285 SX1280, it said successful but will not bind, Tried the BETAFPV AIO 2400 RX, would not complete flash. It will now not go into wifi mode, just keeps on the steady on off blinking (even if I change the auto_wifi_on_interval to a shorter time. I also tried removing the binding phrase on both and doing the plug /unplug 3 times but it will never enter binding mode

did a Passthrough (recovery flash)

unplug LiPo
unplug USB
press and hold the button on the FC
then plug in USB
release the button
open up Betaflight Configurator
go into Firmware Flasher tab
click Exit DFU mode
close betaflight configurator
on the ExpressLRS Configurator
click Build and Flash, with via Passthrough method selected
finished with the success message

still will not bind or enter wifi mode.

Notes:
I did contact betafpv for info but never heard back
Drone is running betaflight 4.3
I'm using the ranger nano - flashed to 3.2
Lua script for 3.2 is updated on the radio and runs
BINDING_PHRASE set the same on both - will not connect
Tried removing binding phrase on both - will not enter bind mode on the drone

Try flashing via Passthrough with the web flasher, making sure erase flash is checked on the last page

Don't need Wi-Fi mode for Passthrough flashing

Do you have any other ELRS quads?

If not, do the same for the ranger module

#

There were some reports of those shipping with corrupted flash so the binding phrase would not save on the module

it connects to the bootloader, but then fails :

Have you tried putting it in Bootloader mode first like you did above?

Yeah, If i don't it gives an error right away that it can't connect to the port

Can you post a CLI dump from Betaflight? What is the receiver LED on the FC doing?

sure, have to step away but will post when I get back. When in passthrough the LED is solid, otherwize it's on off blinking about 1 time a sec

Sounds like it's in a bootloop

*PSA- Betaflight did get back to me and told me the correct ELRS target for the pro2022 versions is "BETAFPV AIO 2400 RX", the elrs log still reads DIY_2400_RX_ESP8285_SX1280_ though.

I tried a bunch of things but doing the following finally got it unbriked and flashed.

installed betaflight 4.4, did a full chip erase, loaded attached (BF411 4.3.0_M65_A_ELRS V2.0_ELRS2.4g_20230203.txt from betaflight webpage, edited to work for bf4.4)

Did a recover flash using the steps below : ONLY WORKED WHEN I PLUGED IN BATTERY for the last step

unplug LiPo
unplug USB
press and hold the button on the FC
then plug in USB
release the button
open up Betaflight Configurator
go into Firmware Flasher tab
click Exit DFU mode
close betaflight configurator
on the ExpressLRS Configurator
click Build and Flash, with via Passthrough method selected
when it get's to the part in the process when you see this plug in a LiPo:
Enabling serial passthrough...
CMD: 'serialpassthrough 0 420000'
======== PASSTHROUGH DONE ========
======== RESET TO BOOTLOADER ========

Finnished sucessfully and now I'm back to the point I started at, flashed with passphrase, but will not bind. I've got a radiomaster elrs Rp2 receiver that I'm going to put on another quad to make sure that works.

I exptected to have some issues switching over to elrs but man do I miss the bind button right now.

The BetaFPV AIO target is just an alias of the DIY target. They're the same.
