Hi I've had the commando 8 and and Nazgul evoque f5 (bind and fly) for about 2 months now and I've messed around with changing max power and packet rate on the transmitter and everything I've tried hasn't changed the range and I'm assuming that the drone falling out of the sky at 100-200 meters isnt normal. Also I'm currently on the stock ELRS 2.4.0 on the transmitter because I'm a little scaried to update and mess something up but if needed I will.

Have you done the Bench Test?
Im only getting signals of -70dB when doing the tests and even when holding it right beside the antena is only gettig me to around -50dB
can you post a photo of the Bench Test setup?
elevate the kwad/receiver off the flat surface.. see if that improves..
elevate both even..
Its still about the same
I'm doing the Bench Test with mine, paired with an EP1, and I'm getting ~30dB
that's the first thing I'd suspect
ok
I'll hook up my iflight receiver.. but I sure do get good metrics with mine
alright thank you
do you have any recommendations for good antenas for the receiver?
ok mine is way worse ill look into getting a new antenna then
thank you for your help!
that's how the receiver is set up..
ok
