#[PC Client] Dualshock 4 bluetooth connection causes abnormal client behaviour and is non-functional

When using a Dualshock 4 controller on the current PC Client via a bluetooth connection the controller will not function correctly and even cause a weird scrolling behaviour across the whole game.
The controller seems to only respond to the circle, X and left joystick left and right movement prompts, else all other buttons are unresponsive.
When attempting to use the controller to control the cursor with the left joystick it can only move in a horizontal line very slowly, completely unresponsive to any other movement of the joystick.
During the bluetooth connection using Controller mode any interference that can be scrolled will either be forcibly be stuck moving to the right or down, persisting until controller mode is disabled.

These issues disappear on a wired connection or when using DS4Windows on bluetooth, controller is fully functional wirelessly with other programs.

i saw someone here say they used a DS5 and had no issues bluetooth and wired, seems to be specifically a DS4 issue

I use an Xbox Controller and an 8BitDo controller. It's a general bugged controller support

see it seems to like Xbox controllers
works perfectly fine with DS4Windows but not the controller on its own
but i can't survive with that because it means i have to use xbox prompts in UI and frankly having the ps buttons helped me a lot with pinging the right ping where as on the emulator i had to physically count my pings and then press the correct combo but obv sm happens in pgr you can't just be there trying to count 8 items on the screen

It should not be necessary to use a third-party software to use something that works normally with everything else on windows. Even on the App the "Xbox button" option is bugged and you need to use the PS buttons since march. Kuro needs to address this now otherwise the global release of the PC client will backfire.

Aside from this, do you guys also experience input lags with a controller? I'm having input lag issues with a wired Dualshock 4 controller.

I have the same issue, using a ps4 controller over Bluetooth is impossible at the moment.

you can use DS4Windows as a temporary fix if you mind the cable or like me have a cable so old it only works at a certain angle and is only useable for charging cause of it, just have to kind of deal with xbox prompts for that and make sure to enable xbox buttons in the game controller settings

there are a number of fake sites with the program that are likely malware but idk the rules here about posting download links to programs so just to be safe try looking for the program's subreddit that has official downloads on it

I do use temporary fix fow now while waiting for the official release where hopefully this issue gets fixed.
I'm running the game now thru Steam and use Steam's custom controller inputs. That fixed the input lag coz I'm using Steam to make the game reconize my controller input as a keyboard input. Not really the optimal way to do it, but it does the job, for now.

well at least you got a fix, i can't play my other non-steam games with steam active they just become unresponsive lol, probs driver conflict

i appreciate the help but i'm fine coping with the xbox prompts using my own fix, but cheers for the tip

you could always try completely re-pairing your controller all over or reinstalling the bluetooth driver if you want an immediate fix attempt, but i hope your issue is fixed on monday so you get to feel how smooth the client is
seems us controller folks were the sacrifice for how well the pc client excels in other areas unfortunately

i was talking with @grave sentinel and they have no issues with bluetooth using a ps4 controller on windows 10, while on 11 they can't even map the keys, so the culprit of the whole bluetooth mess might be windows 11

so the issue is the something between win11 and the pgr pc client

on win 11 PGR told me the controller was detected but I can't use it

I'm on Win 11 and with an 8BitDo in X-Input Mode all buttons can be mapped, but some combinaions can't be mapped. It's a bug since the ascension test.
