With the release of the DMC units, Lucia, Nanami Startrail, when I watch videos of or play with these units, it looks like PGR is slowly moving away from the candy crush system?

The newer units seem to have fixed skills that can be used with much more ease. Does this sentiment have any truth, any vets feel this way, or am I just too new to make a judgement. It's like the units instead get a general currency for simply hitting, and can then decide which of their skills to use with that general ping currency.
