think its gradually progressing up a bit? but the story should be relatively easy so everyone actually able to clear this content

If you seek difficulty in terms of team line-ups, characters investment and some skill then there is regular modes like PPC, Warzone and Norman.
With new updates we also get some more event content that is suppose to be more difficult like various challenge events and sometimes Babel that is most difficult from event content.
Story is really mostly just for reading, bit of gameplay flavour and premium currency.
