The class was implemented on luna in order to make her competitively usable with the use of units from other elements by making her able to convert other element's shred and boost as Omni. It is nothing but a temporary solution to prevent being forced to run her without any shred or buffs.

No, it does not replace attackers nor does it bring a significant change to the meta. Once a dedicated team has been released for void, the annihilator class will become obsolete.
