Not really if you were going to pull for character dupes anyway. Doing 500 pouches is 30 character shards of your choice for Year 1 characters, which is the equivalent to pulling for one dupe. You only need to do 12k BC (11100 if you wait on daily pouches). That's 24 shards, which you can just combine with whatever stray character shards you pick up from gacha.

All characters are going to end up in the Battlepass shop eventually anyway, so pulling characters seems moot to begin with. Anything that you do as F2P is going to be moot, so might as well get a limited time skin.

Speaking of which, if you ignore the weapon skin, you can just do 30k BC on character banner, and do 7500 on weapon banner. That way you'll get your skin, your 2 S-rank characters, and the 6* off-rate weapon that you need anyway. Then those who think they're wasting BC don't have to feel that way.

Well, in a sense kinda sorta. A character dupe (you should be pulling on fate banner if you're pulling dupes) will average you at 45 pulls or so, which is 11,250 BC so at first it may look as if the math checks out, but with BC you could be getting any character, not just first-year ones. The RC pouches are heavily discounted though, 2/3 off, so you can get those same 30 shards for 500 RC or about 6000 BC. Almost double the efficiency, so overall the BC purchasing one is just inefficient
