I said it a while ago, English speaking voice actors aren't bad but when it comes to Japanese media they fail a lot of times because they try to sound too though (if they are guys) or too much like a diva. When it comes to Japanese games I see the Japanese dub as more canon because it's the language the game was written in and the English localisation changes the dialogue sometimes to better fit the limitations of English

What I found interesting is that when it comes to From Software games the Japanese material has different terminology or wording compared to the English translation so some people who talk about lore take into account the Japanese material also

When it comes to games that have Japanese, Chinese and English (even though the only example I can think of that is Genshin and I know almost nothing about Genshin lore) it's more complicated. Japanese has a lot of Chinese influence so in a way I see both the Chinese and Japanese dub/localisation as more canon on games with Japanese and Chinese

Ok, like I've said English subs in games which are made to fit the dub don't fit the Japanese dub exactly, I'm still learning Japanese but I listened to enough tho realize that what I read in the sub doesn't accurately reflect what the Japanese voice actor says. Also English actors play the characters very weird compared to the Japanese counterparts. I don't have anything against English actors because if they dub a game that only has English they do a good job
