When it comes to devil may cry and especially 5 I'm more mixed on voices. Dante sounds good both ways(Japanese and English), V sounded good in English but I preferred the Japanese voice, in the case of Nero I'll go with Japanese and Vergil sounds better in English only because his English voice is more memorable comapred to his Japanese one

Yeah his Japanese voice is just not that memorable. One thing I hate is when it come with games with both Japanese and English dubs is that the canon dialogue is the Japanese one while the English translations for the dialogue is weird sometimes because they don't translate what the characters actually say in Japanese

One difference for example in Replicant is how Yonah adresses her brother in Japanese and how she does it in English. In Japanese Yonah shows even more respect and affection towards her brother comapred to English which for me feels more right. Or another thing about how Yonah in Japanese calls Weiss Shirou(which is white) and Weiss hates it because Shirou is a name used for dogs in Japan as explained in the drama CD if I'm not wrong

Now that I think about it probably why in English the grimoires are called Weiss(German for white) and Noir (French for black) might be because for the international market calling them White and Black book will create some controversy comapred to Japan who doesn't care about naming things this way. Also in the context of the Japanese name and how Weiss feels about shortening it, it makes the situation even funnier when Kainé constantly calls him Shiro. And speaking of Kainé, Gestalt Kainé couldn't be more different than Replicant Kainé in terms of personality
