For me everything seemed to go downhill since Durandal's release back in 2020. Since then the toxicity just kept going up while the quality of the story was going down. Back in Arc city the story seemed to go on the right path with some opportunities for more world building instead of stupid spectacle but it was short lived

To be fair, it is really stupid like whatsoever when toxic does complaining over and over

For me the good chapters were 6 where Kiana found out about her mom, the Schicksal invasion arc(even though I'm still not the biggest Himeko fan), Arc stalker and Arc city. The sea of quanta arc felt quite dumb in my opinion and what happened after arc city wasn't my thing.

I'm complaining so much at this point because I remember those chapters and how good they were compared to the soap opera herrscher hunt that came after

And probably the lowest point was the herrscher of ice arc

Rita in those chapters was a good character until they put her in the front of a literal god and got obliterated, Durandal was infuriating and from what I've heard from summaries she's now part of Hyperion because Rita convinced her which is quite stupid. The event version of Rita seemed like an improvement but the events stories move at a snail pase and most of the events are skipable

Durandal on the other hand gets through everything quite easy and doesn't have any deep character moments and Mei is just a badly written character overall, I see a lot of people defending Mei recently but her arc was rushed like crazy. Also the romance aspect is cheap, purely action stories fail so much when it came to romance, that's why romance stories exist

I rarely gave my output on what I've liked about Honkai because it's much easy to point at what you hate than what you enjoy but I prefer the more chunni type of story where world building is the main priority and how the characters interact with that world and their views compared to mindless action and spectacle. That's why I find PGR more enjoyable

Yeah, I felt like giving a better explanation to why I'm so critical towards it. There was some enjoyable stuff but that enjoyable stuff was 6 or 7 chapters out of 20 something chapters

It's good to see someone complaining about Honkai's story because I hate seeing "hurr durr Honkai's story is better than PGR" shit

That's probably why I also don't find Ufotable's adaptations of Fate that good, they are spectacle but the important stuff like characterization and world building elements are discarded for pretty animations but I can still excuse them because the source material offers me what the anime doesn't. I enjoy pure spectacle stories like DMC or MGS rising but the difference is that the characters are over the top and charismatic and every moment with them is pure fanservice

Eh, with age my tolerance for sugar got worse. I don't have diabetes but when I eat too much sugar I need a lot of water to get rid of the horrible taste

Yeah I uh grew up to sweets and family has history of diabetes. I don’t eat sweets as much, quite rarely but I do love them a lot

Especially if it’s extremely sweet
