Yes, you're right. What I mentioned earlier is a PVE gacha game, while Nikke is a PVP gacha game. They're different things. What I wrote is the point of PVP games: to constantly evolve and acquire new meta units to gain an advantage. There's another similar and popular PVP gacha game called E7. I doubt you've heard of it, but the concept is similar. The only difference is that it has artifacts, and to get the best stats, you need luck or a lot of money, but in either case, it doesn't guarantee you'll get junk, even years after you start playing, except Nikke@random surge

There's no level synchronization in E7. You can play for a year, get the latest meta among limited units, the best artifacts and gear, and that's it, you can play and climb the ladder to the top players, but it's unlikely because your units will be banned, and some people still can't get the best artifacts even after five years. In Nikke, there's a ladder you climb; some are faster, some are slower, but you'll eventually achieve success@random surge

However, this only applies to PvP, which represents a small niche of players who are truly interested. In the PvE component of the game, things are much simpler. In one year of active play, if you do everything correctly and actively play as a F2P player, you can easily reach 300-350+ synchronization levels, which is enough to complete the entire story, events, high lvl raids, and other PvE modes.

That couldn't be further from the truth. Raids have tens of thousands if not more players on a leaderboard, and me at sub 400 levels couldn't reach the MAX reward threshold, which was held at 5%
