Don’t get me wrong, hard challenge and sprawling lore of games like Dark Souls, Sekiro, Limbus Company, etc. where every fight is a thrill and every scrap of story has layers I have to dig through external wikis to fully grasp.
But... if I’m being honest, my heart really belongs to the simpler, more carefree shooters and action-RPGs such as Call of Duty, Far Cry 3-4-5-6, Delta Force, Honkai Impact 3rd, Guardian Tales, etc. that streamline their gameplay into pure, pick-up-and-play fun but still has that surprising rich backstories and world-building just beneath the surface.
