Otherwise it's just a nice MV about two completely sane and good people who do no evil.

There is a ton of story, so even if you eat up everything, you won't run out before everything you missed at the start is reran or added perm.

I'd say the biggest drawback for a new player is that events are by far the most efficient way to get materials.
That means usually newbies are stuck farming event stages instead of actually progressing through the main story or other side stories.

it's the same with F/GO, but that one locks a lot of events behind certain story milestones for "lore" reasons
and most of them don't make sense anyway , so yeah, there's that
