there is no win or meta, but kind of? horses have different stats but any breed can be good, its based on tack. you can play a free trial up until lvl 5 and then u have to get a subscription to play onwards (i have a lifetime pass i bought when i was little). horses cost star coins (updated gen 3 so like the newer less horrifying looking ones are 700-1000 star coins, gen 2 is like 600 and gen 1 is like 450), star riders (paying members) get 100 star coins a week and it accumulates over time. you can also buy more. star coins can be used to buy tack, stable care (keeping your horses needs high), and horses primarily. Tack can also be bought with jorvik shillings which are rewards for doing quests, selling championship medals, etc. and have no monetary value. you cannot have over 10k jorvik shillings at once

a saddle may cost 100 star coins, if thats the case it probably also costs ~8k jorvik shillings

you can also buy clothes for yourself

has the writing and EN voice acting improved since launch?

1.3 was a step up in writing, but mostly because camera directing and lighting was just 10/10.
Then 1.4 is just back to fillers and bland storytelling.
As for EN voice acting, I played JP first, then checked some parts of 1.3 in EN. It was just as bad as before. At least they accidentally got Shorekeeper right, because she is supposed to speak monotone.

Literally direction problem, when you voice a line, usually you get told the emotion you should feel or approving according the situation the character are in, but these on video is clearly a problem that the VA doesnt given direction at all and just get told to say the line

There is no mention of when the other 30th squads were lost. From the 31st we know exactly who is lost over the course of the roughly 3 months that Chapter 1-3 cover (with the events that we know taking place between said chapter included).

If anything, rather than high mortality rate, what's questionable is just ||how long did they fight with those 3 squads only||.
