For me PGR story went downhill after A New Divide and Cinder Burns. The Stigmata chapter took a different direction in how the story plays. That and chapters afterwards felt like a chore to get through and it felt like writing took a nosedive. I dropped it during Sands of Wrath when I realised I'm still at Renaissance and just don't feel like doing the story at all.
For the HI3rd story, ER story didn't feel like it was intended to be part of the main story at first, but then they decided that it is, then continued with Elysium Everlasting. Around that chapter or maybe even the few before that started to become extremely wordy, like Genshin. Bloated dialogue and all that. But the overall experience is still OK at most and the last chapter of the arc is worth slogging through the earlier ones for. Stopped playing after the ending of Part 1.
Can't comment on Part 2. I didn't play any of Part 2.

WuWa story was dead from the get go. It had changes from beta as I heard with how the characters initially react to MC. It didn't really do anything interesting, inherited the bloated dialogue of Genshin (so a lot of nothing that eats up time). 1.1 story had cool moments near the end and Act 5 was pretty good. But other than that it was flat.
Star Rail I actually really enjoy. I won't pretend there isn't bloat, but it's more to the point than other titles from Hoyo. People say the Belobog arc (first chapter after prologue) is boring or bad. I actually enjoyed it. It wasn't anything insane, it was just good. The chapter after that was kind of eh. I didn't like it that much. But Penacony now was amazing.

There are some rare exceptions where I don't give a damn about the story and don't read it, just play the game when I feel like it. Like Project Neural Cloud. But generally, if I don't like the story, I'm out.

Wuthering Waves, I saw good part of the changes on youtube and twitter. I have no problem with actual story, but I have to say that it would me more interesting if they mantained the original plans.
I mean...they really gave a bigger mystery vibe in the original ideas, plus a lot of the cast having trust issues with the MC at the start
About gameplay, I have nothing to complain for the combat of each of these games. If I have to complain would be the substat farming from both HSR and WuWa, lol.

I think a story where the characters are instantly bowing and praising MC for just breathing are cheap. Just there to butter up the player, rather than writing a good story. This was the case like 1-2 years ago in Eversoul at it's launch. It was so big there that they rewrote parts of the story to reduce how much MC is praised.

I can point part of the changes for WuWa. Crownless boss fight introduction would be a lot more badass, Chixia would point a gun at the MC face after absorbing a Echoe with his own body, Baizhi suspicious as hell
