Ok so, when it comes to attack redirection, there is a priority to the things

First you apply Hostility increases or decreases, then Full Hostility, then Substitute, then Substitute All

Hostility increase/decrease changes the likelihood of an attack hitting a specific unit that carries that status change

Full Hostility is similar to a taunt, you're guaranteed to draw aggro from the boss

Substitute doesn't operate with likelihood at all and simply guarantees that all of the attacks will land on you as long as they are single target

Substitute All will soak every single attack regardless of targeting conditions(doesn't care if it is AoE or single target)

What Lyria creates on the MC is something similar to what the character Black Knight initially introduced, Substitute(Select), also known as Guardianship. Basically, the one holding this buff will substitute for a specific character

Societte can work both as a buffer and as a defensive unit, Nehan is a full time buffer and Metera can act as a subdps and skill damager.

What each of them does:
Pengy is a burst attacker that has an inherent time limit on how long she can stay on field. You cannot rely on her for longer quests, but she's valuable nonetheless.

Siegfried has a rather aged kit, but he can work well as an attacker for longer quests. He also packs defensive utility, but since he's an Enmity unit you might get spooked at times. Recommend to FLB him as well.

Baal is a targeted buffer, pretty solid but nothing impressive

He also packs skill damage and debuff utility

Orchid is a mix of support, debuff and offensive utility

Hopeful Pledge, granted through her S2, is quite powerful as a steroid but is also on a timer depending on how many times you get hit

However, if you use Baal buff in someone else(like Sieg or MC), both him and the target will gain hostility increase, so Orchid can avoid hits more easily.

I recommend: MC(any class)/Lyria/flex/Orchid

If you need more offensive play, use DPS MC and Baal as the flex

More defensive utility, use Siegfriend. Need to go fast? Pengy.

This is a quite interesting lineup that you got here.

Breaking this lineup one by one again

Heles is a unit focused on DPS and attacking foes in Overdrive, although she's still competent even outside of that period
However one of her buffs vanishes as soon as she gets hit, so having other defensive units or shields is desirable.

Alliah is also quite offensive but her main role early on is her Facsimile role. She can copy the effects of certain skills.

She also has an interaction with the number of buffs she has(the more the better) but she can also work as subdps when needed.

So she loves Lyria too.

Florence is a debuff centric unit which also packs defensive utility and support

Caro and Cantate have very similar niche and gimmick so special moment for them

Both Caro and Cantate work the best under two conditions:

• Their team has Harp specialty members
• Their team can apply Tuning debuff consistently

Cantate is skill damage centric and will be capablle of rapid spamming strong skill damage once the conditions for her third skill are met. Meanwhile Caro is a team buffer that also dishes skill damage and is quite desirable in longer raids.

For their teammates two of them are farmable(one Collab unit and one Eternal) so you can theoretically run an Harp team with ease. There's also Selfira in gacha that pairs well with both of them.

Since you are starting out, I suggest not raising them immediately unless you get Selfira on gacha or end up liking Niyon too(harp Eternal)

For now the suggested composition is
MC/Lyria/Heles/Flex

If I run 3 Harp chars and MC is not one of them, I can't run Lyria.

MC can run Elysian or Lumberjack later.

Also their passive counts backline characters as well.

Feather is one of the most aggressive Light units in the regular pool and since he has guaranteed triples he benefits a lot from any sort of buff

In my humble opinion this team has a lot of potential

What about Valentine Clarisse? She carried my ass with plain damage.

Valentine Clarisse is more of a buffer than a raw DPS later on

Just looked at their kits to refresh my memory(I don't own most of these)

Early on I ran MC, Veight, Clarisse and Lady Grey.
It always ended with Veight soloing everything with infinite dodges.

Veight is a very solid DPS even before level 100 but at max level he's a beast

Dark Eustace is both a support and a DPS unit with good debuff utility as well. Great for newbies too but you might struggle to farm his FLB item

Lady Grey is a debuff centric unit so you won't likely use her that much

Jessica is another DPS but slightly more unreliable

However she is good for burst comps because of her charge attack

Tyra is skill damager and debuff centric unit, also pretty good

So theirs kits are all over the place.

What I recommend here
Shorter fights:
Lyria/Veight/Jessica
Longer fights before Eustace level 100:
Lyria/Veight/Clarisse

Still sad about Viviana tho but will roll for her nonetheless

In AK on high level you do whatever you want, but very restricted in what you should build early. GBF feels the opposite.

GBF is kind of funny because you aren't obligated to chase meta to do stuff

Except maybe for Revans but there are still workarounds and you can be a casual for literally your entire experience

Raising any kind of unit except for Eternals and Evokers here is also extremely easy so the game doesn't put that much pressure on you to call your shots carefully when raising units early on
