Here in Brazil it is called DL (distance learning)
is basically like this:
You will present the school documents showing that you stopped in year x, from then on you will have to study the last 3 for 6 months (I think) and take a test with questions from the remaining 3 years

Once you get the required grade, you receive a valid certificate that you have completed everything and just live your life.

Public schools should have this feature
