Confusingly, what I found on the characters using semi automatic shotgun, they reload the weapon by inserting shells one by one and pumps it. This is weird and hard to guess, is the shotgun pump action or semi automatic?

Though I would argued that there is a shotgun that can switch between actions of the mechanisms from pump to semi automatic.

But Fenny and other characters have butchered guns and strange operating system.

If the sights is on top of the ejection port, the casing will hit the sight and stuck in the same place.

Secondly, the sight is mounted on the barrel. Pulling the trigger will cause the sight and the slide to punch back to your face. Watch out for aiming this thing with a 2x optic.
