In the generations that follow, children will learn of such success of the human mind, becoming gods due to their minds transcending the measly conventions of modern cinematography. Military-based aesthetics are kinda boring (thinking of american army, mostly, since that's the most widely promoted); they are simply cost-effective stuff, enough that it works but with no regards for anything besides that. While yes, I do agree that a gundam inspired by it would be good for such a story, wouldn't one made out of scrap or barely functioning work just as fine?
