Here's the thing. Alpha's entire personality is being Luna's dog. She doesn't really have an idea of her own.

When she questioned Roland about his loyalty in chap 13, Roland asked Alpha back about what she thought of Luna. He asked if Alpha would blindly follow Luna words by words or she would try to figure out Luna's true intention to abide by it. Alpha chose the former as she blindly followed Luna. "Luna is Luna".
Alpha doesn't have a coherent ideology behind her. She just acts like a dog. Then, outside of Luna, her "might makes right" personality came to show but it's more of a playground bully than Darwinian selection. Further proving that her personality isn't her strong suit.

Like, Alpha isn't a very deep character yet she's constantly in the main stage, showing more and more that she doesn't have much personality outside of "Luna" and "Lucia". It's just weird how the story progressed like that.
