Coming from someone who spends 90% of their free time on another game, I don't find it too intensive to keep up. I do my weeklies, spend some time during the week playing through story, and find the daily check-in is nice and simple so I don't feel like it's a chore.

I've also been able to use some units that aren't meta and keep up with the usual content that comes out, so unless you're chasing leaderboards I don't think it's hard to keep up
