But I'll try my best to explain it in pgr term. These are banner systems that are often released before eos. Maybe these are not that bad compared to the gacha game today

1. Box banner
   Imagine a banner that has a fixed pool of 250 char "card" (no item iirc). It could be S rank or A rank char and mostly populated with outdated units.

Each char card has a different amount of shard. Let's say:
Teddy (10 cards in total)

• teddyx50 teddyx10 teddyx10 teddyx5 teddyx1 ......
  Crepes (10 shards in total)
• crepesx50 and 9 more cards having lower amounts of shards

And so on so forth
Each card has the same rate, no target, no debut rate up, no pity (in fact every banner except 1 has no pity), and any card that has been obtained will be dropped from the pool
So if you want to get a specific char, you need to prepare for 250 pull

2. Fever banner
   Only populated with chars, either featured or old and trash char. Still no targeting, but no "dropped card from pool" system like box banner
   Featured has slightly better odds:
   x50 0.5% | x5 0.25% | x1 0.25%
   For other char... Just reduced odds.

There's a 200 gauge, every time you pull and get A rank unit card, your gauge will fill up by +1 (the problem is getting A rank shard is not that easy either because it is outnumbered by trash S rank). When you hit 200 gauge you will get x50 shards of any char that you want
Oh, and you can only unlock s rank unit by obtaining 50 shards, there's no "obtaining char"
These 2 systems were so obnoxious that it lead to inevitable eos
