uh

1. to get 4-4 you need to have her signature 6 star weapon (commonly referred to as sig) and harmonize that weapon. after that you can buy any 2 piece memory so you can make 6 -> 8 and have two 4 piece sets instead of one 4 piece and one 2 piece
2. different memory sets do different things. for ishmael her signature memory set is sothoth, which not only helps her rotation, but also helps her in buffing/debuffing depending on the class she is copying. if you read the memory description you'll see what I'm talking about, because without it, she doesn't give all the debuffs/buffs that tanks/amplifiers normally do
3. with 2. I pretty much explained why you need different sets: each set is for a different purpose. for when you want to deal damage with her, you'd use the main DPS set. if she is used as a supporting character, she will again have a different set, because otherwise the memories don't make sense. like cottie is buffing your character's damage after hitting an ultimate, so how is she or anyone on team gonna benefit from that, when she is supposed to buff others?

and to decide how to use her, again you need to give context. for war zone she uses a different rotation than for phantom pain cage, since the 2 modes have different goals

and you also need to take a look at her evolution rank. is she SS? SS3? SSS?

try playing just 1 construct for the entire 2 minutes of war zone, you will notice something very basic

1. you will run out of orbs eventually
2. if you have an amplifier on team, you gain a damage buff from simply swapping characters.
3. swapping not only lets you use every characters' orbs to keep going, but while playing a character, the others get orbs passively. on top of that, you get orbs for swapping in. depending on the character's kit, and weapon resonance, you can get 6-7 orbs with 1 swap. But normally you get 2 orbs for a swap-in or 4 if you have DLT (Dead Line Timing) on the character

he told you to use ishmael with limpidity and nanami, because like I said, ishmael copies the missing class in the team (except attacker).
you have a tank and an attacker? she becomes an amplifier
you have an amplifier and an attacker? she becomes a tank
in any other scenario, she doesn't become anything. so you have to watch out for this exact composition if you want to use her in any team as a replacement.
and the reason you would use ishmael over feral, is that she can do just as well, though you do need her signature weapon and memory set because she gets more bonus to her buffing with it.
the other reason is that feral is an old unit and will be replaced soon. so you wouldn't want to invest into an old unit, you would rather want to use a newer unit that can do the same things
