   You can buy pretty much every single resource in SimBat, by using Serum to get the currency

but since you have a second support in the team (even if its the exact same role), Ishmael gets confused and does not have any Role buff at all

basically yes. but if you want the full reason:
Ishmael is one of the two characters in the entire game of the "Nihil" element.
most support and tank units give out elemental effects like "increases fire damage" and "decreases enemy ice resistance".
since there are no real nihil supports, Nihil units can NEVER receive these buffs.
However, so long as Luna is in the team, all these elemental restrictions of buffs and debuffs are removed. anything works on everyone

its just that, when you do this, you should never actually put ishmael onfield. she'll give good buffs from the backlines

every A-rank has one major downside, that keeps them out of meta though:
