not sure which one is that, but if it has 8 areas:
clear the stages, then you can select a character to station at each area
the characters you can station must be ultima awakened (12 resonance + some BP requirements)
doesn't matter who you station, all characters on your account will get the bonus effects, and the effects are active anywhere, not just in that game mode

if it has 6 areas, it's the same thing, but here the characters must be super awakened (not sure if that's the name for it or not )
you need to hypertune all your memories to super awaken a character

But ishmael also has uses outside of that., because she can change her role and element to anything, depending on the team you put her into.
For example, she can give out ice buffs, or fire debuffs. this depends completely on the team you put her in, and the change is automatic
put Ish in a team with a Fire-Tank, and she'll change to a Fire-Amplifier (buffer). this goes for every element EXCEPT PHYSICAL. ishmael cannot do phys

She still has value in hyperinvesting, as at 3S she can play a role in almost every single element team and only slightly score lower than optimal 3S setups without you having to pull multiple 3S amps or tanks

Quick note, phys vergil is very bad. Its mostly solo han with qte vergil with sometimes 1.5 rot of vergil inbetween

Just keep that in mind
