Is there any particular reason you didn't use references? The feet don't match the camera perspective or the rest of the body. Imo, the composition is generally fine, but I don't fully understand it yet cuz is kinda blurry and i dont get much what is subaru doing
I'm not a picture guy so that's the best I could do without shadow covering the entire thing
Its supposed to be him looking at all his past deaths with a ton of what are supposed to be his gravestones in the background
I originally wanted him to look in a shattered mirror and have the deaths shown there but idk how to do broken glass so I did swirls
I kinda get that, but learning to see is most important that drawing itself, its very important learning how to use references and learning how to see cuz other wise ur just making it harder with no sense
Hes looking to an ipad? Or a tv watching the recap?
Just think a physical interpretation of his thoughts
I'm not the best at drawing broken mirrors, but try to imagine it as if the phone screen were shattering. Drawing it in a "lightning" style like just the cracks, doesn't need to be a 1:1 scale. I also congratulate you on understanding depth and perspective to a certain extent with the gravestones in the background, but I think it could be given more life, perhaps by having the gravestones appear larger and closer to the camera. I can see that this is a piece that matters to you, and it's very well done and has a meaning itself.
In that case, I would try to add some variety or something more impactful. You have to decide what you want to be the center of attention: Subaru, the tablet, the tombstones, the concept of death, the uncertainty of the smoke and its origin. I understand that Subaru is touching the tablet, but it looks more like he's waving at it, precisely because of the perspective that doesn't match. Something you did well, if that was your intention, is to guide the viewer's eye with the tombstones. What I mean is that the eyes go from Subaru's feet or torso to his hand or head, then to the tablet, and finally follow the path of tombstones. Similarly, I think many more tombstones could be added to liven things up by placing some closer together for more variety.
I'm more of a visual learner, you think you could show me what you mean?
I don't have a pencil right now, but the idea is to try to have some tombstones closer so the viewer can see the difference between a nearby tombstone and one far away, and see how great the distance is. I also tried to make the TV/iPad perspective understandable, although I'm not sure if it will be clear what I mean. The point is that, because we're using perspective, the part closest to the camera is the top, so it's bigger than the bottom. Does that make sense?
Anyway, if you don't want to make changes like that, just fixing the perspective of Subaru and the TV/iPad will make more sense. Sorry if I didn't explain myself completely.
It's the same height as him, the mist is just obstructing the vision of it
I updated the drawing, will send an updated version in a bit
@west horizon heres an updated image
Is a huge improve imo, just try to change the feets cuz doesnt make sens in that prespective, and whats are those sparkles in the left?
Cross shaped graves
Zoom into the bottom left, that kinda grave
