Look I mainly draw for fun but I do wanna get a bit better and I have over the years, Im trying to get better at tracing shapes from real people.
I'm now very stuck on some art I did because I think the ref I used is hard to see the body like shapes because of the clothes.
Can someone maybe idk help a little im more visual so please don't go sending text walls.
I added my sketch and the human ref image i used which Is some cosplayer

I was mainly just sketching the body rn

then i reccomend finding a different picture if your goal is to improve in anatomy and then when you have more understanding go back to this picture. It is hard to understand anatomy when the body is covered so look up simple gesture drawings and try a few.

It's OK it's just I hate when people explain and it doesn't work because I cant visualise what they are trying to say which is why I always ask for people to sketch over it etc or send visual examples
I will try and fix it in a min aslong as my tablet isn't dead now

I mean I'm not fully learning I draw for fun/creation
And honestly I've improved more just by drawing random shapes over irl people and referencing clothes etc
I've drawn since a very young age lol

Was gonna send a text wall but I'll try to keep it short: the lines you put on the torso wouldn't help with drawing anatomy so you don't need them. Try to keep it simple with a box mannequin, cube for chest cylinders for arms
