Composition

This is super sketchy but I wanted some notes on composition. Tbh I think it looks kind of unbalanced. The focal point should be the transfer of the flower crown to the statue head.

Would also love some notes on values and color esp the color of the character’s clothes bc I can’t choose the color that won’t mix with the surroundings too much but also won’t grab too much attention. Would love notes on shape language as well, I’m not that well versed in it

Also should I keep the gates or no?

other than the figure and the tree the values seem pretty flat

compositionally they don't seem to lead into anything much and the pieces look like they're standalone

nothing is casting any shadows or agreeing with neighbouring things in value

that would be my first "point of contact"
