how do i shade this star top?

i’m not that good at shading, and it being pure black doesn’t help much, i also have NO clue where the light is coming from i just kind of do what looks right

What kind of material are you trying to go for? Leather? Cloth? Cause that changes a lot on how you’d render it

black doesn't shade much, as it absords most light

so it won't need to have many changes

just remember nothing is pure black
