do you have an example of a general style you're going for

#

or how you want to draw in general

it'll seriously help you to have a vision of how you want your drawings to look like, say you'd like to have the of [1] drawing like concept art game artists, or [2] more cartoonish stylized artstyle

#

if you can figure it out you'll end up with an inspiration resource on the overall vibe of your pieces if you have something to base it off of

Thx. But my inspiration so far is the monster hunter series. Been trying and failing to create steve (seregios, a monster than only veteren MH players know)

alright lets be realistic this is gonna take you maybe 4-6 months to nail down

I really only work on the top first than go my way to the bottom of the drawing. So my artbook is just a bunch of horns

for the fastest/standard way of achieving that sketch

  1. watch tutorials on how to draw shapes in perspective; this will help you nail down the complex shape design of dragon horns, scales, and head shape, in simplest forms you can build a dragon with just squares and pyramids, just this alone will be a major help in illustrating monster designs

example

but most importantly, find an artist that draws things you want, tons of redrawing their/similar material allows you to gain little bits of knowledge here and there to add to your own drawings

drawing from imagination is hard, knowing how it's/what is drawn will help

Heh. Learned drawing from imagination the hard way. That mimic alone was from imagination
