#Anatomy Perspective Help

Feel like you made the body a little too long. The waist would be higher up where the rib cage ends
Abs are also too long. I’d move the pelvis higher
youre not using the box guidelines to their full potential
Haven't drawn in 2 months due to some life stuff 💔
lwkey same
As of right now im trying to pretty much draw what i currently know and then study what I'm struggling on
And apparently, boxes
I had amethod for studying perspective that worked really well but its really difficult to communicate it with text tho
essentially you would take the human form and cut it up into its most basic shapes, learn those shapes until its imprinted on the inside of your skull, then you can take one of those shapes, change the angle of perspective and try your best to replicate it.
and once youre confident in one major shape (for example the stomach) then you can move on to another shape.
Man, drawing a woman is killing me
Cant seem to draw one both static and dynamic
They have slimmer bodies
@radiant maple got any tips on how to draw hands holding something?
anatomy is best drawn with a lot of lines side by side and constant adjustment imo
You already have the base square stuff for hip and ribcage bones
I think its a more fo start with blocking in the torso then drawing seperate muscle groups
I'm not near my digital pencil rn, getting home from work. I'll help you out later (if I don't forget lol)
For now, I suggest you continue with the wrm and end it at the wrist, because a big part of hand movements is how it connects to the forearm.
You can just start a new demo later and mark out the muscle groups and it will help you understand how things connect to the joint.
Idk why but i find it much easier drawing in a more "dynamic" and messy way
after this point i would slightly lessen my pencil and readjust some areas to make it look more correct
But drawing abs and each pec of the chest seperately can lead to more room for error to me its like drawing a face but starting from detailed facial features first and then drawing the head etc etc
This is the method I use for portraits, much easier to get the basic shape by outlining the major shapes in a messy way, found it a bit too inconsistent for anatomical figures though.
i think it depends on the preferenve then because whether i do anatomy from memeory or from ref img i start from action like block in the ribcage and pelvis and then make lots of gesture like lines
I also prefer to start with motion of the body, instead of a static pose. Seems more natural to me.
oo nice o:
yea i try doing that but i have gaps in individual muscle groups though like how the calve is shaped or stuff like that so i cant draw realistic anatomy without ref but when it comes to drawing ppl in action im more familiar w it
ill try working on muscle groups
Low-key i struggled with the abs the most.
In my experience learning to draw hands was easier.
oh wow😭 never even tried drawing abs properly
Only thing harder then that i can imagine is the back muscle xd
For me that wasn't too big of a deal, 2 major muscle groups + shoulders.
It's the muscle groups that overlap and move a lot that kill me.
i genuinely cant draw the back from memory at all so respect that
@carmine basin @radiant maple about that, i set that aside for now to work on another drawing which is this
Now that i think of it
Dont you guys think the right arm is too long while the left is too small?
I might be tripping or something but it looks like it
Okay yeah im genuinely struggling 😭
What on specifically?
U want a guide on proportions?
Figured out what to do with it but now i need to put on this guy's summer coat, those vest thingies
I had to laugh a moment, your messy way is in fact the proper way! Its a Gesture!! As said prior its used to identify large forms and shapes of a figure or form, then you refine and re-refine untill you find "the truth" , and thats the line you punch in. Based on your drawing you have a clear understading of that! nice.
Thanks a lot
I took anatomy drawing class in highschool so yea i was taught that approach from what i can remember
But yeah a gesture sketch and refine after approach works surprisingly well👍
I work sooo much better with a gestural and less "technical" style
Kinda got a gist of how to do gesture drawings
(im trash at it and never tried it again after trying it for a few times on drawing humans)
Looks very clean to me
Cant tell if its just the lineart or the coloring
Your lineart needs more variety in width and i the rendering is a bit bland imo
Experiment with more brushes and add stronger shadows light and mabe even texture
I mean rn i have this
Really struggling
I mean i could just resort to watching a youtube video but like i need something that fits with my artstyle
Oooo this ones nice
Thing is that im struggling big time on what to do next
use more blue ish shadows for the clothing
you can also create a light source mabe from the top and add more shadow
the rendering for this one looks better than the other one though
i would also reccomend possibly looking for brushes with more texture and adding hard shadows to some areas
The arm look unatural
Might make this my rendering choice
