I've been drawing since I was really little but I have never taken the time to learn anything fundamentally. It was fine for a long time because I found it fun but recently I have wanted to improve and I'm just totally lost.
Where should I begin, I have time to practice every day but I don't know what to do to get better.
Would the boxes thing be a good place to start?

usually sort of anime style and sometimes I try to do like I guess portraits but I never finish cuz it's too difficult

I suggest going to drawabox and following alongside with their fundamentals series. The fundamentals are boring but they’re fundamentals for a reason

Look for beginner art tips and how to draw stuff especially from reliable experienced artists and try to avoid short how to draw stuff, usually they are good but don’t really explain anything

If it helps, the time you spent drawing when you were a toddler or a little kid doesn't count because you weren't drawing with the intention of developing the skill
I have "technically" been drawing since I could hold a pen. But I didn't start drawing with intention of wanting to be good until I was 11. So, when people ask how long I've been drawing, I say since I was 11
