Maybe a stronger light source? All the values are super similar, so the illustration is getting kind of lost

The colors are pretty similar in value
I also recommend colored highlights or smth

Guys, how can I make the bg orbs more refined like this ref?

this might be easier said than done, but seems like they're metallic, so i would try and think about what is being reflected on the metal (this is generally how i tend to approach it, but i've been doing it for a while now). an easier shorthand for it would probably be to do the same as the reference and have the part of the orbs facing the viewer simply reflecting a darker color
