Maybe a stronger light source? All the values are super similar, so the illustration is getting kind of lost
Like this?
Dunno if I should add a band of glow behind him or smth?
The colors are pretty similar in value
I also recommend colored highlights or smth
But thats just my opinion
Try hue shifting
Ive been trying to work on it- is this better?
The blue light is a nice touch
Got a crit it’s a bit flat
Maybe add blue highlights in the eyes?
Oh I haven’t done the eyes yet XD I make em extra sparkly
Oh cool, welp bye for now!
Ok, thanks! Though, any suggestions to make the face less flat?
This ref from hanacue is what I’m trying to go for..
Maybe define the cheekbones and other structures of the face like the temple and chin? Like this ref has orange light showing the cheekbones
Aight I’ll try!
Guys, how can I make the bg orbs more refined like this ref?
this might be easier said than done, but seems like they're metallic, so i would try and think about what is being reflected on the metal (this is generally how i tend to approach it, but i've been doing it for a while now). an easier shorthand for it would probably be to do the same as the reference and have the part of the orbs facing the viewer simply reflecting a darker color
Mm I’ll try, but I think I’m just confused on how to actually do that XD
