Hey all! So I'm a very beginner artist and I essentially know just the bare minimum about different concepts and fundamentals. I think I've over-indulged in different videos, books and reddit threads on learning how to draw to the point where I am extremely overwhelmed in the path I should take to learning. Right now, I have hours and hours to dedicate to drawing each day but I feel so stuck that I just stare at my page.

Some people say just draw your favorite things non-stop so you don't get bored, but others say to lock down the fundamentals. Some recommend starting with a Loomis book, others say The right side of the brain. I think I just need some structure in learning how to draw, almost like a gym workout where theres like sets and you target different things. I'm not sure how effective that'd be but I really don't mind just working on fundamentals and doing studies.

I saw something recently that I should be working towards a goal so I chose to work towards drawing my DnD Party together. In the future though I want to be able to draw cool and dynamic characters and fully realise my own original characters. I have a bunch or art and artists saved that I really adore and am inspired by but I'm not sure what exactly it is that I like about the art, just that they look awesome!

Any help to push me in the right direction would be so helpful. Thank you! :)

Drawing or practice bargue, morpho or anything. At the end of the day, just find joy in drawing.

You said something about drawing original character cool and dynamic, I recommend one artist for you that may inspired you the same as he inspire me. His name is EO58, you can search it on yt and find his live.
The thing is he probably been drawing for 30 years and he never once talk about book that he recommend or specifically video tutor , every art post blog he post is just his passion/love for art. His obsession for art is insane to the point where he has hid a piece of paper in his underwear in military training just so that he can draw something

I also once ask PLGR, very good painting guy on how to get better at art, is there concrete steps on how to be good at this sort of stuff. “Just draw, whatever it’s on Pinterest, deviantart, or ArtStation” he said.

Idk if this message gonna help you or anything but I believe if you have love for art and find joy in it, you don’t need to be too overwhelmed and stress about it, just keep drawing whether you found cool interesting practice from master or great character design that you may want to replicate.
