i think ive roughly gotten the hang of using complementary colors to add/ reduce value but my sphere still looks kinda off, weridish

can anyone explain what is my mistake?

What did you use for the ball’s shadow?

Not the cast shadow but core shadow

i used red to bring the blue warmer

#

and rhen i lightened it with white to get the reflected shadow

Youre not trying to make it warmer. With blue, mix it with purple. Yes purple is getting warmer but it still looks cooler. Shadows=cooler colors, highlights=warmer colors
