I really like these 2 pieces of art style and want to draw like this but idk where to start. I want to break down their arts but have no idea how…

For context: I’m pretty new to art and picked up art because I want to draw horse for my grandmother. Then I want to draw the piece I will put below this for my grandmother’s birthday and I want to draw it in like these 2 kinda style someday. But idk where to start. I’ve been studying art fundamentals for roughly 2 months especially form and construction and some basic human proportions.

These are two insanely different type of styles btw. One is less contrast and less details while the other is heavy contrast and heavy details.

But for some similarities:
lineart, make sure to get rid of any sketch marks and reallly solidify the lineart. It really helps make a drawing pop more than when you use sketch linearts. It will completely change the art.

Highlights on the eyes. Even the first one has highlights, especially in anome style art there will be a lot of highlights on the eyes.

Make sure the base colors are inline with the lineart, when its spotty like that it wouldnt look complete.

But for two months its really good progress! Keep it up

I think i would do less contrast like first one if I have to draw just characters alone, second one would be like with a bg or something like that.

I’m not too sure, but should I try making the eye shape like bigger and longer so that it will look like the ones I want to draw (?)

The size of the pupils should be adjusted. In the references they are like half moons rather than a full circle. A full circle makes it feel intense while a half moon shape feels more comfortable
