#Texture

I tried doing something like individual lines idk if it made it better or not..
i think youre going a little too overboard with the texture. texture def does help a piece stand out but it shouldnt be overdone. id fix your colors a bit. you can either go into your tone curve and do it manually or with an overlay layer
i went in with an overlay layer and added some red-orange to the center and a more yellow orange to the outer edges. a bit of brown towards where the mouth would be
from there i kinda fixed up the perspective of the bread a bit since it was off and rendered out the shapes more. dont focus too much on the detailing and texture. id squint my eyes to make out the major changes in shades/tones to help you put down the base to render out the softer edges
you gotta good base going on. your focus is just needs to be adjusted lol
OKAY I UNDERSTAND NOW THANK YOU SO MUCH OMGGG
NO PROBLEM
the main thing that i noticed is that you try rendering with lines that are parallel to the curve of the bagel
while six did so with perpendicular lines
parallel lines gave you a more smooth look because that's how you render metal tors
Instead of focusing on texture too much, focus on the colours! If you layer them eventually the texture will appear and the colours will also create the depth that you want
Oh yeah... I kinda uhm don't even know how to start coloring so I kinda just did that BUT YES THANK YOU FOR POINTING IT OUT ILL FOCUS MORE ON STUFF LIKE THAT
Yeah omg you're actually right bc I tried adding more vibrant colours and like yk yk and it looked so much better ! I think what made me stick with dull colors is that a lot of people start with dull colours and I just did the same which made it look so odd and boring and just everything 💔
I’m glad I helped somewhat! I’ve always had issues with dull coloured drawings so I get what you mean. But shape and colour are two of the most important aspects that can easily enhance your art. Keep it up!
